NYC DEP Permit Resource Division On-Call
Categories: Previous Projects

Besides providing regulatory review for development in New York City, the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) is responsible for the design, construction, and operation of drinking water, storm sewer, and sanitary sewer infrastructure for the five boroughs of NYC.  Under a subcontract to a national engineering firm, and as part of an on-call contract with the NYCDEP Permit Resource Division (PRD), Mr. Schaffer assisted in permit application peer reviews and development of an internal NYCDEP permitting manual, including sections on SPDES (stormwater and wastewater discharges) and New York City Department of Transportation and Department of Buildings permitting process.  He also participated in the on-call “Help Desk” task, where permitting and operations materials prepared by NYCDEP or by consultants on its behalf were reviewed prior to submission to NYSDEC and other agencies.
